RIVERS FIJI - THE ‘LUVA RIVER – 1 DAY KAYAKING
The adventure begins with an overland journey into the Namosi Highlands through the lush rainforest interior of Viti Levu. Atop jungle passes, we enjoy breathtaking views of Beqa Lagoon and other coastal areas, then descend into the beautiful and peaceful Namosi Valley. Our journey through this tropical paradise eventually leads us to the quaint village of Nakavika, where we’re treated to a village visit and a traditional kava ceremony in the home of Nakavika’s chief. A short walk brings us to the Wainikoroiluva (‘Luva) River, where we take charge of our own inflatable kayaks. After a brief training session, we are off to face the Class II whitewater and rock mazes of the ‘Luva. Whether you’re experiencing a good old-fashioned water fight, a rejuvenating dip beneath a waterfall, a picnic lunch in a garden grotto or the thrill of whitewater in your own inflatable kayak, we are sure this portion of your journey will keep you entertained and yearning for more. At the confluence of the ‘Luva and Navua rivers, we board motorized longboats for the remainder of our trip down the lower Navua River. Winding our way downstream, we enjoy views of cascading waterfalls, lush rainforest, village life, and an occasional glimpse of the fruit bat, harrier hawk, kingfisher, parrot and heron that make this canyon their home.
Includes: Lunch, all gear & return transfers

RIVERS FIJI - THE UPPER NAVUA GORGE
In the remote highlands of Viti Levu lies one of the most beautiful rivers on earth. Slicing a deep chasm through the island’s tropical interior, the Upper Navua River is our hidden pathway to a pristine tropical wilderness. Shrouded in lush rain forest, fed by countless waterfalls and protected by challenging rapids, the headwaters of the Upper Navua have remained unexplored and unknown to all but the most intrepid adventurers – until now. Join us on this unique journey into paradise where you and your expert guides negotiate exciting whitewater, experience highlands culture, explore hidden grottos, cool off beneath cascading waterfalls, search for exotic wildlife, and hike through lush forests. Fun, adventure, and uncommon beauty – this full-day river trip has it all.
Includes: Lunch, all gear & return transfers

RIVERS FIJI – 1 DAY BEQA SEA KAYAKING
The journey begins aboard our 60’ catamaran which carries us clear of Rovodrau Bay and across the Beqa Passage to the protected waters of Beqa itself. En-route we are afforded spectacular views of Viti Levu’s mist shrouded, mountainous interior and palm fringed coast line. Just shy of Beqa, near the uninhabited island of Nanuku we drop anchor and launch our sea kayaks to gain access to the white sand beaches, coral gardens and tranquillity of this idyllic tropical paradise. Following our exploration of Nanuku and a hearty lunch we head for Malu Bay where aboard sea kayaks we paddle deep into the cliff lined interior of the island for a visit of Lawaqalevu Island where thousands of fruit bats cling to the surrounding trees like overripe fruit. Tides permitting we paddle to the apparent end of the bay only to continue through a secret mangrove tunnel that leads to the great blue beyond. Here views of Kadavu, more snorkelling, island exploration and peaceful paddling are the venue for the remainder of the afternoon. We conclude our journey riding the waves and chasing the setting sun back to the mainland. A gentle sea breeze, the sky ablaze from the fire of a setting sun, a dolphin escort, a day of fun, make an exploration of Beqa and beyond a rewarding and memorable day along Fiji‘s adventure coast.
Includes: transportation, gear and lunch

ADVENTURES IN PARADISE FIJI CAVE TOUR
The Cave Tour was recently voted Fiji's favourite day trip by outbound tourists, who, when asked to name their best Fiji experience put the Cave Tour on top. It really is a fantastic day of fun, culture and real Fiji experiences. We offer door-to-door service from all Coral Coast and Nadi hotels and the tour departs a central meeting point at 10.00am. It starts with a 35-minute drive into the picturesque Sigatoka Valley for fabulous views of Fiji’s famous “Salad bowl” – known for its colourful patchwork of fruit and vegetable crops. You’ll hear the fascinating history of notorious Tongan warriors who reigned supreme in this area and glimpse ancient hill fortresses of Tavuni and Matanavatu. On the banks of the river you’ll participate in customary kava ceremony and picnic lunch before a bamboo raft ferries you across the river for the short walk to the Naihehe Caves. The entrance is a tropical garden setting – and this was the cave fortress of Fiji’s last cannibal tribes. A pagan priest ruled it and hundreds of people lived inside for months at a time. We follow the lantern lit hall chambers to the legendary “Pregnancy Gap” which opens up into the huge and wondrous Grand Cathedral Chamber. Natural features include sparkling stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones and underground springs - but its history makes this cave particularly special. You’ll see a ritual platform, priest chambers and cannibal oven! It's pretty awesome stuff. The cave environment is comfortable, with easy access, plenty of fresh air and no bats or creepy-crawlies. Next, we take a 15-min walk across native bush and farms down to the river for a downstream "bilibili" ride. These bamboo rafts are still the traditional mode of transport for river-based villages. Ours are wide and well balanced and the river is warm and shallow. Great for paddling about, swimming, or dragging along behind the bilibili; you can learn how to stand on the back and pole it – or just sit back and watch local scenery pass by. This is about 35 minutes of serious fun - kids love it and so will you! The bilibilis take us back to our waiting bus and we hit the road again. You’ll be back at your Coral Coast hotel around 4 p.m. or in Nadi by 5.00 p.m.
Includes: Transportation, tour guides, lunch, beer and soft drinks and bottled artesian water all day.
Operates: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday

ADVENTURES IN PARADISE - WATERFALL TOUR
The Waterfall Tour is fantastic day out and great for some leisurely exercise in typical Fijian forest. Pick-up around 10 am - drive 15 minutes along the coast and 15 minutes inland. You’ll visit the village of the Biausevu tribe and participate in a "Kava Ceremony" with the Chief – if he’s home. Our visit is not set up, so if the Chief isn’t home, one of his spokesmen will receive us. This is the usual protocol. Next, you’re given bottled artesian water or soft drink, and we hit the walking trail to the waterfall. You’ll wander through several shallow streams – each one a photographers delight, native bush land and lush tropi cal rainforest with guides who explain the traditional use of various plants along the way, including plant medicines. At the waterfall you’ll learn how to husk a coconut, eat tropical fruits and do some fish feeding. The waterfall itself is spectacular - dropping 120 feet down a rocky cliff into a picturesque swimming lagoon edged by giant ferns, wild red ginger and ancient Ivi trees with amazing root systems and hanging vines. You’ll understand how legends are born in this tropical paradise setting. This is the favourite swimming place of the legendary “Twins” of Fiji. The lagoon is not too deep so it's safe for young and old. There’s also a shallow rock pond ideal for infants or paddlers. After a refreshing dip, you’ll head back to the coast and visit a great little handicraft store - where you can purchase authentic village handicrafts, souvenirs etc at really good prices - much cheaper than town shopping and no hassling! This tour is natural and rustic - no paved footpaths or handrails – but it's mostly flat and not very demanding. There are plenty of helping hands from very entertaining guides. Great for all ages of reasonable health, mobility and fitness.
Includes: Transportation, tour guides, lunch, beer and soft drinks and bottled artesian water all day.
Operates: Monday, Wednesday & Friday
